Hip surgery done, doing well

Tuesday 04/27, Anna had the plate and 4 screws removed from her left hip. Her recovery time is expected to be about a week, and 2 days post op we are still with fevers and not able to walk a whole lot.
This hardware has stunted the growth of her left leg and has caused the limp and some of the instability she has. Although it was necessary to be in place due to her congenital hip dislocation/dysplasia. We are hoping in the next couple of years the left leg catches up with the right one. If not, when she is 9 or 10 years old or if not before, she will have to have another surgery. We are hoping also we can start learning to jump and run once everything is healed. And YES, she got the hardware as a souvenir.

Sunshine always helps a speedy recovery!!

Anna's Birthday- 5 years old

Anna turned 5 on Friday, April 9th. We celebrated by going to lunch at Chef Lin (Chinese buffet) that day, then had a party the following Friday. I think after just seeing Olivia's recent birthday, she was looking forward to her party and presents.
When Anna came home from school Friday, she saw the kitchen was decorated with balloons, the tableware and I was working on the food.
She walked in and said, " Anna's birthday party?"
I looked at her and said, "Yes, we are having Anna a birthday party tonight!!"
She looked at me, walked over and hugged me and said, "Ah, mommy! Thank you, I love you mommy!!"
Priceless........

Easter Week & Spring Break

We celebrated Easter this week at church with a good Friday service at 7:30, a 10PM Saturday night service, and an awesome Resurrection Service on Sunday Morning. We also got together with the Rector family to enjoy the "world famous egg hunt"!!! My kids look forward to it every year because of the $$$$. This year there was probably over $300 worth of prize eggs. Anna had already been practicing egg hunting at her preschool. The kids totals: Anna- $14, Olivia- $32, Jared-$22, and Zachary-$64!!!

And the hunt is on.........

Anna disappointed that nothing was in this egg (there was, it just fell out. Plus she chose to sit in Pam's lap- look in Pam's right hand :)

Everyone's loot!

Pics of the family. The girls dresses were handmade by Aunt Pam and they looked lovely as always!

And now, SPRING BREAK with the Standefer families (my parents/brothers family) in Gatlinburg!
